La configuración del sentido de lo público en la universidad colombiana plantea la revisión histórica de algunos de los conceptos que hicieron parte de su ideario educativo. En este artículo se exponen dos tesis de abordaje, la primera sostiene que el ideario de universidad se apropió de manera impostada como rúbrica de una herencia colonial que no ha sido superada y cuya influencia central es una débil separación entre Iglesia y Estado; la segunda tesis presenta la manera como el ideario de Universidad Pública se ha ido reconfigurando con las luchas estudiantiles que han exigido mayor autonomía, democracia y financiación. Refundar el sentido de lo público en la universidad es un proceso histórico que interroga los conceptos de gratuidad, universalidad y laicidad.
Abstract
The configuration of the sense of the public in the Colombian university presents a historical review of some of the concepts which were part of their educatio-nal ideology. This article presents two approached thesis, the first one argues that the ideology of college is relevant in an annotated form, as the healing of a colonial legacy which has not been surpas-sed, and whose main influence is a weak separation of the church and the State; the second thesis presents the way in which the Pu-blic University’s ideology has been reconfigured with the student mo-vements which have demanded greater autonomy, democracy and funding. Redefining the meaning of the public in the university is a historical process that interrogates the concepts of gratuity, universa-lity and secularity.
